Facilities and Apparatus

Sanibel Fire rescue District operates out of two station strategically located, station 171 located mid island and station 172 located on the north end. Both station are operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Both station are manned by a minimum of 3 firefighters, with at least one being a paramedic as well as emergency medical technicians(EMT).

Station 171 and apparatus

Station 171 is our headquarters, with administrative staff offices as well as a minimum of three firefighter/EMT or paramedics, often staffed with four. This station houses our ladder truck, a 2018 Sutphen SL75 capable of reaching most any roof on the island. Station 172 and apparatus

Station 172 is a satelite station located on the north end of the island at the intersection of San-Cap Rd and Bowman's Beach Rd. As with our other staion it is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with 3 firefighter/EMT or paramedics. Engine 172 is first reponse unit for all calls in this area for fire and medical calls.
